Heidi Cooper-Sereni - Business Office Manager
Heidi joined Aurora Santa Rosa in 2015 to manage the Business Office. Her managerial experience in Healthcare- Accounts Receivable - spans over 30 years. From Long Term Care and Ambulance to Rehabilitation Centers and Acute Psychiatric, Heidi offers a well-rounded breadth of business knowledge.
To date, Heidi and her team have made significant progress creating many best practices for Aurora Santa Rosa’s Business Office, including writing and improving policies and procedures for the department.
Carol Britton - Chief Nursing Officer
Carol has a BRN from Keuka College, N.Y., Carol’s experience ranges from medical/surgical and Neonatal ICU to Neuropsychiatry, Psychiatric ICU and Psych Emergency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Carol’s continuing education includes an intensive course for Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Carol joined the leadership team as CNO in 2015. Carol maintains a high level of communication on a daily basis among staff, and ensuring ASR has the right balance between staff expertise and patient acuity levels.
Prior to CNO, Carol held positions in Legal, Utilization Review, Education and as a Nurse Manager.
Cynthia Kane-Hyman - Director of Education
Cynthia, RN joined the Santa Rosa leadership team in 2016 as Director of Education. Her specialty work in suicide assessment and trauma-informed care is being used throughout the Aurora hospitals.
Cynthia’s extensive background includes Registered Nursing since 1973; and Clinical Nursing Specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since 1983. In the 1980s she trained with June Matthews, a Jungian Analyst, for 5 years in sand-play therapy. In the 1990s she worked with homeless children and their families, and went on to be the Director of the Child and Adolescent Sexual Abuse Resource Center at SFGH for 4 years.
While working at UCSF teaching “Trauma Informed Care,” Cynthia began studying with Dr. Allen Schore in his Berkeley group for five years. From 2006 to 2014 Cynthia worked at Herrick Hospital in Berkeley as the CNS for the Department of Psychiatry.
David Walker – Director of Plant Operations
David brings over 30 years of experience in Construction Management to Aurora Behavioral Health Hospital, including 8 years in Facility Management.
David began his career as an electrician in the Bay Area in 1985, became a General Contractor in 1999 and moved to Sonoma County in 2009 to work as a Facilities Manager.
At Aurora Behavioral Health Hospital in Santa Rosa David manages the building, with 95 beds, Housekeeping and Maintenance.
Since March of 2017, David and his team have undertaken a process improvement program that focuses on 24/7 patient area cleanliness and risk prevention.
Sarah Sundance - Director of Dietary
Sarah, CDM joined ASR in 2013 as one of the first employees in the newly opened hospital, as a chef. In 2015 she was promoted to Director of Dietary Services.
Prior to coming to ASR, Sarah worked as a chef at a long term care facility for seniors. She has been cooking in commercial kitchens for 23 years. Her leadership in this area is important, providing patients and staff with nutritious and medically sensitive meals.
Al Jennings - Human Resources Director
Al started working in Human Resources in 1998 after graduating from the University of San Francisco with a BS Degree in Organizational Behavior. He started working in healthcare as a Hospital Corpsman in the Naval Reserve and obtained the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class. He served most of his two enlistments as a Field Medical Corpsman assigned to the 4th Marine Air Wing.
During his employment at Marin General Hospital, he worked as a Central Service Technician, Hospital Technician and as an Employment Specialist. He also had stops at The Marine Mammal Center and Real Restaurants as the HR Director before coming to Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital.
Al also holds certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and Senior Certified Professional with SHRM. He has also completed the Mediation and Conflict Resolution Certification through the University of California Berkeley.
