Aurora Santa Rosa - Northern California's Preferred Behavioral Health Hospital

As updates on the situation and impact surrounding COVID-19 continue to be released, we want to assure you that the safety of our patients, their families and loved ones, and our employees continues to be our highest priority.  Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital is actively monitoring the situation as it continues to change daily and we are taking heightened preventative measures to keep our patients, their families and loved ones, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to recommendations distributed by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and Sonoma County Public Health guidelines. Which include the following:

  1. We are participating on daily and weekly calls with the local health department, CDPH, CMS, and CDC that are providing updates, new guidance and answering questions.
  2. Assembled a COVID-19 centralized team to address concerns and implement necessary measures from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidelines.
  3. We are actively monitoring and educating on hand hygiene compliance and disinfection/cleaning of the hospital.
  4. Screening protocols have been enhanced for patients, visitors and staff.
  5. We have designated distinct separate entrances for staff and visitors for both our inpatient and outpatient departments. All entrances have a hygiene station equipped with hand sanitizer, gloves, and masks upon request.
  6. Patient care supplies such as masks, gloves and hand sanitizer are being monitored and utilized. Personal protective equipment items are routinely checked to ensure proper and secure storage.
  7. Visitation has been canceled indefinitely as a mitigation strategy for exposure to COVID-19 and to help ensure safety to our patients and staff. We ask that if you have any concerns that you may be exhibiting symptoms of being sick to please refrain from visiting the hospital to keep our patients, family members and staff safe.
  8. COVID-19 informational flyers are on display to provide important reminders on proper infection prevention procedures.

The safety of our patients, their families and loved ones, and our employees is our top priority. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 closely and respond as necessary in our efforts to reduce any risk associated with COVID-19.

The CDC has provided a list of easy tips that can help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then immediately dispose of the tissue.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently touched.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
